Introducing The TechTAC Quick-Set™ Slimline® Tubing Anchor Catcher

Here at TechTAC we’ve been hard at work developing an innovative solution for our downhole partners. The Quick-Set™ Slimline® TAC performs at the level expected of TechTAC anchors, however, with half the turns to set. Key features include:

No new manuals or complicated setting procedures necessary. The new TechTAC Quick-Set™ Slimline® Tubing Anchor Catcher sets and releases the same as our traditional Slimline® TAC, as well as the standard B-2 style TACs, by rotating the tubing to the left. This typically means 6-8 turns at the tool. However, the patent pending Quick-Set™ Slimline® TAC fully sets in less than 3 turns! This allows the TAC to overcome many of the previous setting restrictions inherent with sub-optimally drilled wells.

The smaller diameter of the TechTAC Slimline® TAC increases flow-by capacity (see comparison tables in brochure), providing greater area for improved flow from the well, allowing the well to operate more efficiently. The reduced diameter also allows the anchor to be set in or below the perforations, allowing the enter string to be anchored. With the tapered flow subs on top and bottom of the tool, turbulent flow is reduced and solids are directed out and around the anchor instead of accumulating on top of it. Not only does the Slimline® design significantly reduce the chances of the TAC getting stuck in a well, it also allows the anchor to be cut over in dramatically less time compared to a standard TAC. Due to the smaller diameter, only the slip protectors and slips need to be cut over.
